I am a Professor ( Professeur des Universités ) in the Statistics & Optimization team of the Institut Mathématique de Toulouse, teaching in the Department of Mathematics at Université de Toulouse. I am affiliated with the AI Cluster ANITI.

I have a (wonderful) small child, which means that I do not travel much at the moment and may decline most invitations.

Right now, I focus on what does it really mean to train a machine learning model with SGD, along the following lines

Also, I am very interested in the interplay between optimization, statistics, and optimal transport theory in order to produce more robust data-driven models
